Special Instructions: Sorry, no commercial drop off. Please remove all ornaments, tinsel, garlands, flock, nails and other foreign materials before dropping the tree for recycling. There is a limit of 2 trees per family.

Locations: City Parks Maintenance Shops, 7800 W. 62nd Ave. will accept trees Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Lutz Sports Complex, 5700 Oak Street (access the southwest parking lot off of Oak Street) does not have restricted days or hours.

Special Instructions: Please remove all nails, ornaments, wires or other foreign material before dropping the tree off for recycling. Only natural Christmas trees can be accepted. No garlands, wreaths or yard debris can be accepted.

Curbside Collection: The City will conduct a curbside collection of natural Christmas trees from Jan. 4, 2010 - Jan. 15, 2010. This service is available to City of Thornton trash/recycle collection customers only. Customers are asked to place their natural tree at the curb on their regular collection day for city crews to pick up. Trees should be free of all decorations, tree stands and other foreign material and should not be placed in bags.

Drop-Off: Thornton residents can also drop off their Christmas tree for recycling on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Infrastructure Maintenance Center, 12450 Washington St. at the north entrance with access on 126th Ave. east of Washington Street. Proof of residency is required.

Special Instructions: Please remove all decorations, tinsel and other foreign material before recycling. Trees should not be placed in bags.

Christmas Wrap Collection: From Dec. 26, 2009 - Dec. 31, 2009, City Solid Waste/recycle customers may place bagged gift wrapping paper and flattened holiday boxes at the curb for collection on their regularly scheduled trash collection day. Customers are encouraged to use their black containers for these items as wel as their normal trash. Any bagged gift wrapping paper for flattened boxes that will not fit in the trash containers should be placed at curbside next to the container for regular trash collection. Boxes and bags filled with household trash or debris will not be collected. All household trash must be placed in the black trash containers.
